Ceres BioSystems Limited was created in May of 2014 via the purchase of the international operations and international development business of N-Viro Systems Canada LP (“N-Viro Canada”) a company which was established using lime stabilization technology pioneered at the University of Toledo in Ohio.
N-Viro Canada was purchased from its founders in 2008 by CFI Infrastructure Opportunities LP (“CFI Fund”). CFI Fund brought in new management led by Rob Sampson and professionalized the operations of the company. CFI Fund is a private equity fund managed by CFI.
Ceres BioSystems Limited’s first operating facility opened in June 2014, in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. This facility has contracted with the government owned Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation (“GSFS”) to purchase the entire production of the plant. GSFC will market the fertilizer in 50 Kilo bags to local area farmers under the trade name Sardar Nirmal.
Ceres is also currently developing additional plants in India and is in discussions with local partners in Ecuador and the Philippines to build, own, and operate facilities in those markets.
